Explaining your work to non-experts can be a rewarding experience — especially when you manage to engage an audience with your research. But how do you sift through everything you know about your topic and identify the essential nuggets for a specific audience? How do you transform dry facts into a story? And how do you make a lasting impression when your audience can only spare five minutes?
In this workshop you learn to create a compelling elevator pitch using proven storytelling methods — from the Message Box to the ABT framework. You will practise with your own topic and receive concrete feedback.
Preparation
During this workshop you will work on your own pitch. Think in advance about a topic you want to practise with — your thesis project, current research, or even a hobby. As long as you know it well and are passionate about it!
